Is JustSell a scam? No — and here is how you can check
If you are about to hand a stranger your iPhone, asking “is this legit?” is the right question. This page exists so you do not have to take our word for it: here is who runs JustSell, exactly how payment works, and the checks you can run yourself before you commit to anything.
The short answer: JustSell.ca is a real, owner-operated device buyback service in Toronto. You get a published price online, locked for 7 days. Locally, you meet in public at a GO station and you are paid on the spot. From anywhere in Canada, you ship free with tracking — and if you decline the final offer, your device comes back to you free.
Who is behind JustSell?
JustSell is run by its founder, a Toronto techie — no store, no call centre, no sales staff. That is the whole business model: with no rent and no payroll, more of your device’s value goes to you instead of to overhead. It is also why the person you message is the person you meet. The full story is on our About page.
You can reach a human at +1 647-877-2681 or [email protected], Monday to Friday, 11 AM to 7 PM.
How you get paid — without risking your device
- Meet in person: get your quote online, then meet at a public GO Transit station in any of our 9 cities. You are paid by e-Transfer or cash on the spot, when you hand over the device.
- Ship it free: your price is locked before anything leaves your hands. Shipping is free and tracked. If you decline the offer after inspection, return shipping is free too.
- Free doorstep pickup: in our 9-city area, we can collect the device from your door.
- Published prices, locked 7 days: the price you see is the price you plan around — and under our Price-Beat Promise, if you find a higher legitimate written Canadian quote, we will beat it (terms).
- Data wipe, documented: every device is factory reset and verified by a technician, and you get a certificate by email.
Do not take our word for it — check
- Our Facebook Page and Instagram @justsell.ca are public — scroll them.
- Our founder sold on Facebook Marketplace for years before JustSell: 4.8 stars across 322 ratings there.
- Google our phone number, 647-877-2681 — it is the same number on this site, our pages and our business card.
- Start small: your first sale can be your oldest, cheapest device, at a public meetup, before you trust us with anything expensive.
- Read how it works and the FAQ — a scam does not publish its prices, its process and its phone number.
Things JustSell will never do
- Never ask you to pay anything, buy gift cards, or send money the other way.
- Never ask for your banking password, e-Transfer password, or a verification code.
- Never change your locked price because you already shipped — if inspection finds a genuine difference from what you described, you choose: the adjusted offer, or your device back free.
- Never rush you. Quotes are no-obligation and locked for 7 days.
